We are looking for a scientist who is willing to take a leading role in the gravitational wave searches conducted by LIGO and Virgo detectors, and actively contribute to the rapidly growing area of gravitational wave astrophysics. The UF LIGO group consists of seven faculty members, several research scientists, and graduate students. The group is a member of the LIGO Scientific collaboration and one of the major contributors to the design, development, and construction of LIGO detectors. The UF LIGO group maintains a vigorous research program in many areas of gravitational wave physics. The successful candidate is expected to conduct searches for gravitational waves from compact binary coalescence and burst sources with the advanced LIGO detectors, provide public alerts for observed GW candidate events, perform analysis of LIGO data, work on the development of tools for the gravitational wave data analysis, and make a contribution to the monitoring and characterization of LIGO data.
